Lake Compounce Under New Ownership
The family-owned amusement park company that owns the Lake Compounce Theme Park in Bristol is being acquired by a Spanish firm that manages dozens of amusement, animal and water parks in the United States and Europe.
Kennywood Entertainment said Tuesday it agreed to sell its amusement park holdings to Parques Reunidos of Madrid, Spain, which made an offer as part of a plan to consolidate family entertainment venues worldwide.
Financial terms were not disclosed. The sale is expected to close in March.
