While the Tapatalk PRO version does have a cost to it, keep an eye on the LakeCompounce.org twitter feed for codes which allow you a complementary copy of the PRO version of the application.

And of course there is also a freeware version of the application which allows you to read the forums directly from your smart phone as well.

Over the weekend the authors of Tapatalk for the iPhone made a couple of announcements:

1. The original TapaTalk application has been updated and re-named as a “Pro” version.  The main feature I’ve seen from this upgrade is an “Unread Messages” filter and a ton of polish has been applied to the app.
2. There is a new “Lite” version of the application available in the iPhone store for free.  The look and feel is supposedly the same, however the “Lite” version of the App gives you read only access to the forums.

Lastly…keep an eye on the twitter feed on the front page of Lakecompounce.org.  The authors are sending out occasional license codes for a free copy of the Pro version of the application.  As I see these, I’ll re-tweet them into my feed.
