  • Is there a discount for evening admission?
Admission is cut nearly in half after 5 PM.
  • Is there a Stop & Shop card discount?
For a full day admission ticket, there is a $4.00 per person discount for up to four people if you present a Stop & Shop card at a ticket window.
  • When are the best times to ride Boulder Dash?
While you're at the park, take a look at the Boulder Dash track from time to time to see if both the red and yellow trains are running. If they are, you are guaranteed a short wait in the Boulder Dash line because this coaster is the model of efficient loading.
  • Does Boulder Dash ride better at any particular times?
  • Boulderdash is at it its best at night, and Haunted Graveyard nights are the best time to experience Boulderdash at its best.
  • Is Wildcat's ride really that rough?
If you're looking for the most enjoyable/smoothest ride, sit in the middle car, middle bench. It is amazingly smooth since your not on any axle, and its the middle of the train. Its quite amusing to see everybody else riding being bounced around, and you just sitting there wondering why people are complaining.
  • Does Ghost Hunt's line talk a long time to get through?
If the line for Ghost Hunt is short, get in line and do it. If the line gets long, spend your valuable time somewhere else in the park.
  • Does Saw Mill Plunge's line take a long time to get through?
Saw Mill Plunge is really good, but it is one of the rides that will get a pretty long line if it is a hot day, so you might want to go to that early too.
  • How should I cool off this summer?
If it is a hot day, visiting the water park is a good decision. Even if you don't like slides, the lazy river, the pool, and Clipper Cove (with the giant bucket) can be fun and very refreshing.
  • Is there a way to confirm any closed rides at the park that day?
While walking from the parking lot to the front gates, notice this sign on your way.

  • Are there any hotels near the park?
For lodging near the park, try the Marriot Residence Inn by Marriot in Southington. It's next to the exit that you take for the park and is fairly new (2-3 years old). Less than a 5 minute drive to the park. The Clarion Inn is less than a mile from the park with a rate around $100 per night. Also in Bristol is a Residence Inn that has a rate a little over $100.
  • Does Lake Compounce have a fireworks display?
Yes, on Monday, July 4 and the park is open unil 10PM.
  • Does the park open its gates before their announced opening time?
Yes, they usually do let you into the park a few minutes early.
  • What is a relaxing way to enjoy park views?
At the end of the night I like to ride the train - round trip if possible. It's a relaxing way to end the day and it offers great views across the lake.

  • Where are the best food choices?
As for food, there are many great choices, but my favorite is the wrap sandwiches at the 50's diner next to the log flume. They are huge and come with a large amount of macaroni or potato salad. One becomes lunch or dinner for two at a great price, and I still have room for ice cream there too (the real deal, not that soft serve stuff). It has a bright atmosphere and a jukebox too. Another member recommends the Croc Pot Cafeteria for food options as they offer a good number of choices.
  • Should I pay for ice tea and bottled water?
Don't forget that all the soft drinks are free all day!
  • What show is playing in the Starlite Ballroom this year?
The African Safari Circus has daily performances in the newly renovated Starlight Theatre every day at 2PM and 6PM, and also at 8PM on Saturdays and Sundays.
